About Riz Auto Service

Automotive Repair and maintenance

In Harrisburg, shops are busiest on Monday mornings and before holiday weekends, so a mid-week appointment gets a car seen faster. Labor rates across Pennsylvania vary by neighborhood and by shop type, from small independents to dealership service bays, and mobile mechanics now cover many routine jobs in the driveway. Before authorizing a repair, ask for the estimate in writing, whether the shop warranties parts and labor (12 months / 12,000 miles is common, some offer more), and whether it can provide a loaner or a shuttle. Check the listing for hours, the makes the shop works on and its Google rating, then call ahead, since walk-in capacity is limited at smaller shops.

Hours are published for 6 days a week. Typical hours are 8:30 am–5:30 pm. Note that it does not open on Sunday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach Riz Auto Service at (717) 857-6140; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions.

Customers rate it 4.7 out of 5 on Google across 58 reviews, placing it among the better-regarded auto repair shops in Harrisburg.

Harrisburg is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around Harrisburg is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Pennsylvania's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Recently purchased a 2007 Honda CRV for a family member. Had a great experience and got a fair price. Separate from this when I worked uptown years ago I took my own vehicles @ Riz Auto Service for inspection, oil change, etc. would recommend.

I am a skeptic. I look at reviews and determine if I want to do business with someone based on what I see in the comments of those reviews. I had no choice this time I had to use this shop because the work had to get done ASAP. That’s not saying the reviews were bad but necessity made my decision. The owner quoted me on parts and labor for the repairs. I was surprised that the cost was lower, much lower than what I had been quoted by shops that could not get me in right away. Within a few hours the owner called me and said “we have a problem”. I was not happy of course. I was relieved when he laughed and said your cars is done. Then I was even happier when he said the price would be reduced because some of the parts they ordered and some of the labor would not be required. Talk about honesty! I had my car serviced some time back and never wrote a review. An employee of mine asked where he should take his car today. The first place I thought of was this one. Now I am writing a review because this place deserves to be recognized for its honesty and integrity.

I was having some car issues and needed to find a place in the Harrisburg area that could take a look at it as soon as possible. These guys didn’t require an appointment and just told me to swing by and they’d take a look at it. They ended up finding the issue and doing all the repairs within a few hours at a pretty reasonable price. Really pleased with the work they did and how accommodating they were. They were friendly and honest guys and I plan to continue bringing my car here for any future work I need done.
